Investigations are under way to find out how beefburgers on sale in UK and Irish supermarkets became contaminated with horesemeat. Tesco & Iceland have been identified as two of the supermarkets who have been stocking the contaminated burgers and the news of this investigation will be very damaging for the reputation of the supermarkets. They will have to work hard to restore customers confidence in the stores food and products.

Music and DVD chain HMV is to appoint an administrator, making it the latest casualty on the High Street and putting about 4,350 jobs at risk. The first store opened back in 1921 has struggled against online competition and was slow in moving into the digital age which combined with the tough economic conditions has sadly sealed its fate. Hovis Abandons 100% British Wheat Pledge

Due to the poor harvest of wheat in Britain in 2012 Hovis is planning to start using wheat from elsewhere in the EU in some loaves. This means it will have to remove the 100% British branding from them. Will this see an increase in the price of hovis?
