Revised fares for the metro will come into effect from 6th January 2013. On average prices will go up by 4.1% while peak day tickets would be withdrawn. Nexus director general Bernard Garner said fares had been kept as low as possible but this still sees single tickets increase by 10p. Consider inflation and the inelastic demand for metro travel!
